About Me

I am an origami instructor, a paper craft expert, a jewellery maker and marketeer with over 5 years experience in entertaining Brisbane kids with arts and crafts in a fun and friendly setting. Maki’s Art is everything that makes me happy - it is all about arts and crafts where anyone is able to book origami parties, craft parties, jewellery making parties, origami workshops, craft workshops and jewellery making workshops. Maki’s Art allows children (and adults too!) to customise their parties or workshops to suit them, and to make sure that everyone involved leaves with a big smile.

I also attend markets around Brisbane where I sell my handmade origami jewellery. I use my origami skills to fold Japanese Washi paper into intricate and beautiful pieces of jewellery that can be unique gifts, but also for those looking for something new and unique. I am a registered Nippon Origami Association Instructor and also currently work as an assistant at an out of school hours care centre in western Brisbane. I run regular classes at aged care centres in Brisbane, providing a fun, engaging and unique experience to people of all ages.

I have worked with the Brisbane City Council in organising two Art Bites workshops (Giant Origami & Origami Jewellery Making) as part of the BrisAsia Festival in Brisbane, I run papercraft workshops at the Green Heart Fairs and Recreate Markets. I was a collaborating artist for the Amigurumi Toyland project which was also a part of the BrisAsia Festival. I have also recorded an origami program for the internal television network at the brand new Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Southbank.

Hope to see you around Brisbane,
